  • 1983 - Nintendo merged with Atari to form Nintendo-Atari.
  • 1985 - Atari-Nintendo releases the Atari Entertainment System (AES) game console.
  • 1989 - Atari-Nintendo releases the Game Boy (GB) portable game console.
  • 1991 - Atari-Nintendo releases the Super Atari Entertainment System (SAES) game console.
  • 1994 - Atari-Nintendo releases Super Game Boy (SGB) add-on for the Super Atari Entertainment System.
  • 1995 - The Atari Entertainment System game console is discontinued. Nintendo-Atari launches the Virtual Boy (VB) game console.
  • 1996 - Nintendo-Atari launches the Ultra 64 (U64) game console. The Virtual Boy game console is discontinued due to low sales.
  • 2001 - Nintendo-Atari launches the Atari Gamecube (AGC) game console. The Ultra 64 game console is discontinued. Nintendo-Atari launches the launches the Game Boy Advance (GBA) game console to replace the Game Boy Color game console.
